Compute Resources¶
This brief article lists vendors and approximiate specification of league computing resources.
Below are the minimum specifications of league equipment. In for everything but the streaming computer, the minimum specification is often driven by supporting a stable and smooth desktop environment.
Truss Vision Computer (Next Unit of Computing - NUC)¶
The Intel NUCs are the truss computers. The league owns 7th generation NUCs, fist releasing in 2017. As such, their specification is quite modest.
Field Side Vision Computer¶
The league doesn’t own field side computers. They are typically provided by the venue contract. Approximate minimum specification is provided below:
GPU: 4-core/8-thread Processor from within the last 5 years
GPU: Integrated GPU
OpenCL: Version 3.0+
RAM: 16GB DDR5
OS: Ubuntu LTS
When deployed as a vision processor host:
Game Controller Computer¶
The league doesn’t own field side computers. They are typically provided by the venue contract. Approximate minimum specification is provided below:
GPU: 4-core/8-thread Processor from within the last 5 years
GPU: Integrated GPU
OpenCL: Version 3.0+
RAM: 16GB DDR5
OS: Ubuntu LTS
Remote Controls¶
Remote controls are Raspberry Pi 4, 2GB or 4GB model. Accessory hardware (screens, PoE) is described on the ssl-remote-control repository. These device need at least PoE+ to deliver enough power.
Status Board¶
Status board computers are Raspberry Pi 4, 2GB or 4GB model. Any computer capable of hosting a small webpage can fill this role.
Streaming Computer¶
The league doesn’t own field side computers. They are typically provided by the venue contract. Approximate minimum specification is provided below:
GPU: 8-core/16-thread Processor >4.0GHz
GPU: Nvidia 2060 or better, capable of 4k video transcoding
OpenCL: Version 3.0+
RAM: 32GB DDR5
OS: Ubuntu LTS
